PLYMOUTH (WWJ) — The owner of a Metro Detroit mobile dog grooming business says she was the victim of a road rage incident this week while on her way to a client’s house.

The incident happened around 6:15 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 27 in the area of Lilley and Ann Arbor Roads in Plymouth, according to Amanda Rae, owner of Lollipup

She told WWJ Newsradio 950’s Taylor Dietz on Tuesday she was approaching a red light at that intersection when she noticed a man in a gray sedan began honking and yelling.

“I’m looking around, thinking, oh my God, did I do something wrong?’ I never saw him, so I didn’t think it affected me at all,” she said. “And next thing I knew, he got out of his car and was walking towards my bus, yelling and swearing and punched out my window.”

The driver then got back in his car and sped away, according to Rae. She then pulled into the Amoco gas station and called police.

She’s not sure what prompted the man’s outburst and said there was traffic both in front of and behind her at the time.

“The only thing I could think is maybe he thought I cut him off or something, which I would never do intentionally. I mean, I have a big, 19-foot short bus that has 50 gallons of water in it and a generator on the back,” she said.

“My bus is my baby; I would never do anything reckless in it,” Rae said.

She posted to the Lollipup Mobile Grooming Facebook page Tuesday afternoon asking for anyone who may have witnessed the incident to come forward to help find the suspect. She said none of the other cars at the red light stayed following the incident.

Rae said she has filed a police report with a partial Texas license plate for malicious destruction of property. She said late Tuesday afternoon she had not yet heard back from police, who were going to look through the gas station’s security camera footage.

“I would absolutely love for someone to come forward and say ‘oh, I witnessed it and I saw it’ or call and help find this person. I only got a partial Texas plate and I’m really, really depending on the gas station to have video footage, because if not, I’m not sure what else to do,” she told Dietz.

All dog grooming appointments this week will be pushed until the following week, she said in the Facebook post.
