DETROIT (WWJ) -- The family of a 19-year-old man is pleading for help from police and the public as they search for justice, more than a year after his murder in Detroit.
On Wednesday, those who knew and loved Amire Allen-Vincent spoke at news conference, as Crime Stoppers of Michigan announced a $2,500 reward for the tip that leads to an arrest in this case.
On Sept. 6, 2023, authorities say Allen-Vincent was at home in the 18000 block of Joseph Campeau near Conant St. on Detroit's northeast side.
There was some sort of altercation, and Allen-Vincent was shot in the chest.
Although not much more than a child himself, Allen-Vincent was also the father of a 1-year-old baby daughter, according to his family.

"It is hurtful; it's devastating," the victim's mother, Eva Allen, said. "II's just really hard like, you know, people that claim they love him could allow something to happen to him like that. So, it really, really hurt."
There were dozens of people packed into the house at the time of the shooting, the mom said, and that's why she can't understand how it's possible that no one knows who killed her son.
"It really, really hurts. And, you know, we've put pieces together and was asking questions, and they just snatched the baby right away from us," Allen continued, though tears. "So, it hurts; it hurt really, really bad. And I just wish I couldn't been there to save my son."
Anyone who has any information about this case is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-Speak Up (800-773-2587).
