Monroe couple charged in fatal shooting at mobile home park in Frenchtown Township

FRENCHTOWN TWP. (WWJ) A couple has been charged in connection to the deadly shooting at a Monroe County mobile home park in Frenchtown Township this past weekend.

Austin Cory-Jordan Green, 21, of Monroe was arraigned Monday on one count of open murder and one count of felony firearm.


Riley Morgan Young, 20, of Monroe was arraigned on one count of felonious assault and one count of domestic violence.

The Monroe County Sheriff's Office said deputies were on duty this past Saturday (5/8) around 3:15 a.m. when they heard gunfire nearby at the Pleasantville Mobile Home Community. It's located at the intersection of Pleasantville Dr. and George Dr. in the area of I-75 and Nadeau.

Deputies found the victim dead in the entrance of the mobile home community. Green and Young were found nearby and taken into custody.

The Sheriff's said the victim and suspects knew each other, although it's unclear how. The gunfire stemmed from an altercation, the Sheriff said.

The victim was identified as Michael Tripp, 26, of Newport.

Green was remanded to the Macomb County Jail. Young's bond was set at $50,000 cash or surety.
