
FRENCHTOWN TWP. (WWJ) -- An investigation is underway in Monroe County after a woman's body was discovered in an abandoned building.
According to Michigan State Police, troopers with the Monroe Post responded to the scene where Kayla Sedoskey was found unresponsive inside the former Boysville Juvenile Detention Center, in Frenchtown Township.
Monroe County Ambulance arrived, and Sedoskey — identified as a result of the City of Monroe — was pronounced dead.
It is not yet known if foul play is suspected, as MSP said the cause of death is still under investigation.
The body was found by someone who was exploring in the vacant building.
Other details, including whether Sedoskey has been reported missing prior to when he body was found, are unclear at this time.
Along with Monroe County Ambulance, MSP noted that troopers were assisted at the scene by the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office and Frenchtown Fire Department.
