More than two dozen fans removed from Wolverines season opener at Big House in Ann Arbor

ANN ARBOR (WWJ) Security kicked more than two dozen fans out of the season opener for the University of Michigan Wolverines, against the Fresno State Bulldogs, at the Big House in Ann Arbor Saturday.

27 people were removed from the game; according to an email sent to WWJ by University of Michigan Division of Public Safety and Security Deputy Chief Melissa Overton.

Of those removed; 10 were kicked out on grounds of disorderly conduct, one was for a fight, nine for intoxication, one for misuse of their MCard (official University of Michigan ID card), and five for breaking stadium rules. The final was an “Assist HVA” evacuation.

Only one was a student or had a known affiliation with the university.

Saturday's game was the first time alcohol sales were permitted at the Big House.

Michigan beat Fresno State 10 to 30. The Wolverines will face off against the University of Texas at Austin Longhorns at noon on Saturday (9/7).
