DETROIT (WWJ) -- It's a chance to catch a glimpse of some new cars and have some family fun today as the Motor City Car Crawl rolls into Detroit.
New vehicles from local auto dealers will be on display at six Detroit parks for a free walk-through, along with live music, food trucks, beverage tents and more.
The multiple-day event was created by The Detroit Auto Dealers Association (DADA) and Downtown Detroit Partnership (DDP), and could give attendees a teaser into what the forthcoming fall version of the Auto Show might look like in 2022.
“We expect a lot of excitement about Motor City Car Crawl. People are looking forward to being able to socialize and attend events again and this outdoor event will bring people together in a safe outdoor environment that illuminates our beautiful city,” said Eric Larson, CEO of Downtown Detroit Partnership. “DDP is happy to partner with the DADA to make this exciting charity event happen.”
Some highlights include a ticketed charity gala on Saturday with Sheryl Crow, as well as other free performances at the parks, which include Beacon Park, Cadillac Square, Campus Martius, Capitol Park, Grand Circus Park and Spirit Plaza.
The popular Pixar movie “Cars 2” will also show in a drive-in movie at Campus Martius on Friday evening, following a performance from the Michigan Philharmonic.
