COMMERCE TWP. (WWJ) -- A 57-year-old Saginaw man has died after a motorcycle-SUV crash Thursday in Commerce Township.

According to the Oakland County Sheriff's Office, it happened at around 4:30 p.m. on May 18, at Sleeth Road and Marcello Drive.

Investigators said Gary Michael Kingins was riding a 2017 Kawaski Vulcan 1700 motorcycle westbound on Sleeth, when a woman driving a Ford Edge heading east on Sleeth made a left turn onto Marcello, hitting Kingins.

Kingins was taken by paramedics to a local hospital where he died of his injuries. He was not wearing a helmet, the sheriff's office said.

The driver of the car, identified as a 60-year-old woman from Farmington Hills, was treated for minor injuries at the scene. Officials said she was wearing her seatbelt.

Alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the crash, according to the sheriff's office.

An investigation by the Sheriff’s Office Crash Reconstruction Unit is ongoing.
