
FRENCHTOWN TOWNSHIP (WWJ) - Police are investigating the death of a motorcyclist after being struck by an SUV in Monroe County.
Authorities said the crash occurred on Nov. 2 around 7:35 p.m. at North Monroe Street and Washington Boulevard in Frenchtown Township.
A 52-year-old man from Monroe was driving a red Harley Davidson motorcycle on North Monroe Street. A Ford Escape traveling the other direction turned left into the Cheers Party Shoppe when they struck the motorcycle and seriously injured the rider, authorities said.
The man was taken to ProMedica Monroe Hospital, where he was pronounced dead from his injuries, officials said.
Police say the 62-year-old driver of the SUV was not injured.
Michigan State Police troopers are currently investigating the crash. Anyone with information is asked to call 734-242-3500.
