DETROIT (WWJ) A crash on Detroit's west side leaves a motorcyclist seriously injured, according to Michigan State Police (MSP).
MSP say it happened on southbound I-75, south of the Davison Freeway, on Friday, September 25 at approximately 9:47 p.m.
Their preliminary investigation revealed the motorcycle was traveling on the freeway when it rear-ended another vehicle.
The motorcyclist then "ran across the lanes of the freeway" and was struck by another vehicle, according to MSP.
Multiple witnesses told police the motorcycle was speeding and weaving through traffic prior to the initial crash.
First responders rushed the motorcyclist to the hospital with serious injuries.
Authorities do not believe drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash. The investigation remains ongoing.
