Troopers discover 6 vehicles, building struck by bullets after Royal Oak Twp. resident reports hearing roughly 25 gunshots
ROYAL OAK (WWJ) - Police are looking for information -- and a suspect -- after someone open fired in Royal Oak Twp. on Thursday evening and struck half a dozen cars and a building.
Michigan State Police said fortunately, no one was injured in the incident which a concerned Oakland County resident reported around 7: 45 p.m. on Thursday, December 28th.
The caller said they heard around 25 gunshots in the 21000 block of S. Hart Place in the Charter Township of Royal Oak.
When troopers arrived at the location, they found six vehicles and a building had all been hit by gunfire with numerous fired cartridge cases -- two of different calibers -- discovered scattered across a parking lot and sidewalk.
Investigators further searched the area for evidence and spoke to several witnesses. One person MSP talked to reported seeing a young man running away from the area, but his involvement in the incident remains unknown.
