FLINT (WWJ) -- One teenager is dead and another is hospitalized after being shot at a massive party, Sunday night in Flint.
Flint Police officers were called just after 10 p.m. on Aug. 10 to the scene in the area of East 2nd St. and Harrison St. in Downtown Flint, where officials said around 2,000 people had gathered to celebrate "810 Day" — a nod to the city's area code.
The Michigan State Police Flint Major Case Unit, which is involved in the ongoing investigation, said an 18-year-old Flint woman who was shot was pronounced dead at the hospital.
A second victim, a 16-year-old Flint boy, was also taken to a hospital for treatment, but police said his injuries are not life-threatening. He was listed in good condition on Monday.
No suspects are in custody and authorities are still working to determine what led up to the gunfire.
Officials are asking anyone who knows something about the shooting to call D/Tpr. Stockmeyer 517-898-7831 or Flint-area Crime Stoppers at 1-800-422-JAIL (5245), download the P3Tips mobile app, or go to http://P3Tips.com/488.
