Michigan State Police stopped a speeding driver on I-696 and ended up confiscating some weapons, including an AR-15.
It happened around 8:30 p.m. Wednesday. That's when a trooper clocked a 20-year-old man driving 90 miles per hour on the freeway near Oak Park.
Police say the driver was acting suspiciously when the trooper approached his car, and eventually admitted to having a loaded pistol in his waistband. During a search of the vehicle, police also found an AR-15.
The pistol was registered to the man, but police say he is not a concealed license holder. The driver was taken into custody. Charges are now pending.
