MOUNT CLEMENS (WWJ) -- A young woman is facing up to life in prison if she's convicted as charged in the shooting of her father in Mount Clemens.

The Macomb County Prosecutor's Office said Monday that 20-year-old Cheyenne Randolph was arraigned in 41B Clinton Township District Court on one count each of Assault with Intent to Murder, Felony Firearm, and Aggravated Domestic Violence.

It's alleged, prosecutors say, that Randolph shot her 66-year-old biological father after the two argued at their apartment in the 200 block of Hubbard Street in Mount Clemens, at around 7 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 23.

While the Macomb County Sheriff’s Office initially identified the alleged shooter as a California woman, prosecutors refer to her as a Mount Clemens resident, and say she was living in the apartment with the victim.

Prosecutors said the father was shot multiple times. He is being treated at a hospital, and is expected to recover

Randolph has been ordered held on a $2 million cash/surety only bond, with the condition that she have no contact with her dad if she is released.

“This incident serves as a reminder of the serious nature of domestic violence and the urgent need for intervention and support for all those affected," said Macomb County Prosecutor Pete Lucido, in a statement.

The defendant's next court date has not yet been scheduled.
