DETROIT (WWJ) -- A rough year for Stellantis means far lower profit-sharing checks for union workers.

WWJ Auto Beat Reporter Jeff Gilbert reports hourly workers for the automaker will be receiving checks of $3,780 for their work in 2024.

That's more than $10,000 less than the previous year's checks,

"That after a 70% earnings drop at the company," Gilbert explained, reporting on the matter on Wednesday. "Stellantis has made $5.5 billion pre-tax in a year that Chairman John Elkan says fell short of potential."

This news comes after union workers at Ford Motor Co. got much larger profit-sharing checks of over $10,200, and UAW members at General Motors got record-high checks of up to $14,500.

Looking ahead, Gilbert said Stellantis is bullish on future earnings, stating that the company does expect to return to profitable growth in 2025.
