SHEPHERD, Mich. (WWJ) – An investigation is underway after several students were injured in a school bus crash on their way to ski club in Mid-Michigan.
Michigan State Police say an Ithaca High School bus crashed on northbound US-127 near M-46.
Details are limited, but MSP says there were multiple injuries. They had not verified how many people were injured, but some students were being treated.
The extent of their injuries was also not clear, but MSP said there were no fatalities.
Uninjured students were transported to Shepherd High School, where they were reunited with parents.
Police did not say how many students were on the bus at the time of the crash.
MSP has not said what led to the crash, but authorities posted pictures of the bus overturned off the highway. A part of the bumper is seen lying next to the bus.
US-127 was left closed for several hours during cleanup efforts, but has since reopened.
It was not clear whether any other vehicles were involved or if anyone else was injured.
The investigation is still ongoing and police say they will provide more details as they become available.
