DETROIT (WWJ) — Multiple people have reportedly been injured in a crash involving an ambulance in Detroit Sunday morning.
The crash happened around 11 a.m. at the intersection of Wyoming and Chicago on the city’s west side, according to a report from WDIV.
The crash caused the ambulance to roll over onto its side, while another car involved was also damaged.
A member of the EMS crew in the back of the ambulance sustained significant injuries to their head, neck and back, according to the report. Two others in the front of the ambulance sustained less severe injuries.
A total of five people were injured and taken to the hospital, though the extent of the injuries were not immediately clear.
Authorities did not say whether the ambulance was carrying any patients or if it was on a call at the time of the crash.
Police are investigating the cause of the crash.
Last Tuesday one person was injured when an ambulance sideswiped an SUV and rolled down an embankment onto I-75 in Detroit.
