(WWJ) – The Powerball jackpot climbed to over $1 billion after nobody matched all six numbers in Saturday's drawing, but two people are $1 million richer after buying tickets in Michigan.

Officials with the Michigan Lottery say two players matched the five white balls drawn Saturday night – 19-31-40-46-57 – to win the $1 million prize, but didn't cash in for the big prize, missing out on the Powerball number.

The winning tickets were sold at Billy's Liquor Depot on Grand River Avenue in Redford and at a Shell gas station in New Buffalo, near the Indiana border in Southwest Michigan.

With no jackpot winner in Saturday's drawing, the Powerball jackpot now stands at $1 billion with a cash option of $497 million. The next Powerball drawing will take place Monday night, possibly giving someone quite the Halloween treat. It will be the 38th drawing since the jackpot was last won on Aug. 3.

If someone matches all six numbers on Monday, it would be the second-largest Powerball jackpot ever and the fifth-largest jackpot in U.S. lottery history.

The last Michigan player to win a Powerball jackpot was Cristy Davis, of Waterford, who won the game's $70 million jackpot on Feb. 12, 2020.

If a Michigan player wins the jackpot, it would be the second largest jackpot ever won in the state. In January 2021, an Oakland County lottery club won a $1.05 billion Mega Millions jackpot. That jackpot was the largest ever won in Michigan and the fourth largest in U.S. lottery history.

Powerball tickets may be purchased until 9:45 p.m. Monday at retailer throughout the state. Tickets also may be purchased online at MichiganLottery.com.
