(WWJ) A Northern Oakland County woman died Monday morning after she crashed her car into a tree in Macomb County.
The Macomb County Sheriff's Office said the driver was pronounced dead when deputies and EMS arrived on the scene, at 34 Mile Rd. and Fisher Rd. in Bruce Township, at around 6 a.m. She has since been identified as 26-year-old Jocelyn Guilot of Leonard, a Village in Addison Township.
An investigation found that Guilot left her home around 30 minutes before to the crash, and was on her way to work. She was driving her 2018 blue Ford F-150 eastbound on 34 Mile when the car left the roadway, striking a tree to the south
Officials said Guilot was the only one in the car, and no other vehicles were involved in the crash. She was wearing her seatbelt and road conditions are very icy in that area, according to investigators.
As deputies investigated at the scene, 34 Mile was closed between Fisher and Dequindre Rd. The roadway has since reopened to traffic.
