TROY, Mich. (WWJ) -- Oakland Mall was partially evacuated Monday afternoon after a gas leak was caused by a contractor working at the mall.
Debra Dodd with Consumers Energy tells WWJ parts of the mall had to be evacuated after a third-party contractor doing some work at the mall struck a two-inch plastic service line that runs to one of the buildings.
Police and fire personnel are on the scene.
Consumers Energy has multiple employees at the scene assisting, with others on their way to the mall.
Dodd says they hope to have the situation taken care of quickly.
No injuries have been reported.
