OAKLAND TOWNSHIP (WWJ) An Oakland Township woman was arrested during an undercover drug bust for possession over 1,150 “Russian roulette” methamphetamine pills in her home and more than $37,000 in cash, the sheriff said.
The Oakland County Sheriff's Office said the Narcotics Enforcement Team (NET) arrested the woman, 57, at her home Thursday, January 9th on Lyndon, near Romeo and Kline roads.
“The saying we have, one pill can kill, comes directly from situations like this,” Oakland County Sheriff Mike Bouchard said. “You have a pill press pressing pills into something they are not. They in fact contain totally different drugs which may be fatal. In this case, there were pills that looked like Adderall, but were in fact methamphetamine.”
NET seized a total of 1,153 meth pills resembling Adderall, 22 morphine pills and $37,217.
Her name was not released, pending arraignment. She is expected to be arraigned as soon as Saturday, January 11.
“As a result of these situations, we have seen young people who thought they were buying Adderall to help them study. In fact, (they) got fentanyl or other drugs and died from one pill,” Bouchard said. “People like (the suspect) are literally selling Russian roulette pills and need to be held accountable.”
