DETROIT (WWJ) -- One person has died in an early morning house fire in Detroit.

Fire crews were called out at around 1 a.m. on reports of a fire at a home on Rogge at Eight Mile where people were trapped inside.

Three people were able to escape, including two who jumped from a second-story window.

One person inside the home said the double dead-bolt locks on the doors and the security bars on the windows hindered their escape.

One person died at the scene.

Another person is currently hospitalized; their condition is unknown.

A cause has not yet been determined.
