Open enrollment for Michigan's Marketplace health insurance begins November 1st

(WWJ) -- Its almost time to sign up for Marketplace health insurance.

Michigan's Department of Insurance and Financial Services is urging everyone reliant on the Marketplace to have a plan for when open enrollment begins next weekend. Recent federal changes, coupled with expiring tax credits, makes it more important than ever to review your insurance coverage before making a selection during the upcoming Open Enrollment period, which runs from November 1st through January 15th.

“Health insurance improves health outcomes and helps protect your family’s health and financial future,” said Director Anita Fox. “As we head into Open Enrollment season now is the time for, Michiganders to start preparing for and thinking about their health insurance options for 2026. Michiganders who need help finding or maintaining health insurance or understanding their options can call DIFS at 877-999-6442, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. or visit Michigan.gov/HealthInsurance.”

A record 530,000 Michiganders are currently enrolled in the state's Marketplace health insurance.
