(WWJ) -- Utility crews will be working to restore power to several thousand homes and businesses affected by overnight storms in Southeast Michigan.

DTE Energy is reporting an estimated 52,000 customers are currently without power, with that number on the rise.

According to the outage map, areas in western Oakland County, including West Bloomfield, Milford, Commerce Township and Farmington Hills, appear to be hit the hardest.

There are also large outages reported near Taylor and Detroit Metro Airport, where flooding is also effecting travel for Metro Detroiters.

Consumers Energy is also working to get thousands of its customers back online.

People are urged to stay away from downed power lines, as well as entering any flooded areas on the roadways.

A Flash Flood Warning is in effect for parts of Southeast Michigan until 3:45 p.m. on Thursday, while a Heat Advisory has also been issued for the area until 8 p.m.
