
BRIGHTON (WWJ) Police have arrested a suspect in an armed robbery of Hampton Inn Suites in Brighton.
Brighton Police announced they arrested a man, 22 of the Howell area, on Monday at approximately 4:15 p.m. They described him as the “sole suspect” in the armed robbery of the Hampton Inn Suites on Challis near Grand River.
Police said an employee reported the robbery on Monday around 1:20 a.m. The employee told police the suspect walked into the hotel and went into the bathroom. Shortly afterward, he walked out and left the hotel. Wearing a mask, he returned with a weapon.
According to police; the suspect opened the cash drawer, took the money inside and left. Authorities did not specify the amount he took.
The employee was not hurt, police said.
Brighton Police said they arrested the suspect “without incident” and lodged him at the Livingston County Jail.
