Have you seen Amaya? Farmington Hills police ask for public's help in finding missing teen

Police in Metro Detroit are seeking assistance from the public in the case of a missing teen girl last seen on Thursday.

FARMINGTON HILLS (WWJ) - Police in Metro Detroit are seeking assistance from the public in the case of a missing teen girl last seen on Thursday.

The Farmington Hills Police Department is currently investigating the disappearance of 14-year-old Amaya Arteaga from Farmington Hills. She was last seen on June 16 by her family as she left her residence around 6 p.m. in the area of Eight Mile and Tuck Road.

Amaya stands 5' 5" tall and weighs between 180 and 190 lbs. Police said she has brown eyes and shoulder-length brown hair that is closely shaved on one side.

Police said Amaya was last observed wearing a black and gray tie-dyed t-shirt, with green and black shorts. She is possibly wearing Nike brand slide sandals and carrying a green and black backpack.

The teen has a distinctive “road rash” scrape on her right leg from a recent fall.
