DETROIT (WWJ) - Detroit police officers are investigating the scene of a shooting that led to one death on the city's west side Friday morning.

The incident occurred in the 21500 block of Fenkell Ave., between Chapel and Burgess, at the Clark gas station in the Brightmoore neighborhood around 3:22 a.m., WWJ's Charlie Langton reports.

"A victim, an unknown victim, was fatally shot while he was inside his brown Caravan," Langton said from the scene. "...the door is open, there is a number of gun casing markers on the concrete, just outside the brown vehicle right in front as it looks like he or she was getting gas."

Few details have been released about the shooting, but Langton said multiple Detroit police officers are at the location and the gas station has been taped off.

The investigation into the shooting remains ongoing as police investigate a second deadly shooting on the other side of the city.

Detroit police told WWJ that an hour earlier, a man was found shot to death inside his older model Dodge Charger on 8 Mile near Gratiot.

The suspects remains unknown in both cases and are currently on the run, Langton said.

This is a developing story. Stay tuned to WWJ LIVE for the latest updates.
