ROSEVILLE (WWJ) - A student on a Roseville school bus allegedly found a bullet, prompting an investigation by police.

In a statement from Roseville Middle School Principal Christopher LaFeve, the school received a tip from a student saying a bullet was found on a school bus on March 22.

The school went into “shelter in place” while authorities were notified and an investigation took place.

“RMS administrators and the Roseville Police Department interviewed all students, viewed all bus camera footage, checked lockers, searched students, and had a police explosive/firearms dog check the building,” LaFeve said in the statement.

The investigation showed there was no credible threat at the school.

Parents were encouraged to talk to their students about the incident. The statement asked the discussion to include specific items.

1. Ammunition isn't allowed on school grounds.

2. Threats are taken seriously and will be investigated by the police.

3. Support staff is available to help students having issues with peers.

4. If someone hears something, they should say something.
