Authorities say witnesses told investigators the car was headed east on Packard and hit the pedestrian as they were going through a green light at Fernwood.
The pedestrian was in the crosswalk at the time of the crash, officials said.
Alcohol does not appear to be a factor, officials said, but they have not released any information about what happened leading up to the crash.
