Darsow and Ghost arrived at the scene around 8:45 p.m., and were alerted that the man -- who police believed was cognitively impaired -- had already been in the woods for several hours with temperatures at around 11 degrees.

Ghost began tracking the man, leading authorities through the thick woods for about half-a-mile before successfully locating him.

Upon his recovery, the 58-year-old man from Pennsylvania said that he had gone for a walk and gotten lost.

He was taken to a nearby hospital where he was treated for exposure.

“Another great job by Ghost. Good Boy!” the sheriff’s office wrote on Facebook alongside pictures of the proud pooch.

Way to go, Ghost!
