DETROIT (WWJ) — The suspect involved in a fatal crash over two weeks ago has so far eluded police after the stolen Camaro they were driving collided with a pick up truck and killed a 74-year-old man.

The Detroit Police Department said the unknown suspect was driving the stolen vehicle westbound on McNichols shortly after 11:30 p.m. Wednesday May 18 when it went through a red light and collided with a 2000 GMC Sierra pick-up truck that was traveling southbound on Telegraph Road.

The suspect took off running after the crash and left the victim behind.

The driver of the truck, a 74-year-old man, was injured and taken to a local hospital where he died a few days later, police confirmed.

Detectives investigating the scene located designer shoes along with other clothing in the stolen Camaro and believe the items may help identify the suspect.

The shoes appear to come from Dior's B22 Sneaker collection. According to the fashion house's website, the shoes cost about $1,300.
