TROY (WWJ) -- Troy police are searching for an armed and dangerous man who robbed a local gas station at rifle-point last week.
No shots were filed in the incident the morning of Thursday, Oct. 20. just after 2:30 a.m., at the Shell station on Rochester Road at South Boulevard.
Police said the suspect walked in carrying "what appeared to be an AK-47 style rifle," approached the clerk, and demanded money from the cash register.
In security video released police, the suspect is heard telling the clerk, "Give me everything."
With one hand full of cash, the robber points the rifle at the clerk while ordering him to put his hands on his head and turn around.
"Count to a hundred; I'm not gonna kill you," the suspect says.
When the clerk starts counting, the gunman turns to leave as he threatens: "If you move, you die."
The suspect then fled on foot with the money. No injuries were reported.
He's described as stocky Black male. During the robbery he was wearing a black ski-style mask, black hoodie, black and gray gloves, blue sweatpants, black tennis shoes, and was armed with a black and gray "AK-47 style rifle." according to Troy Police.
As the suspect remained at large, as of Nov. 5, police said they've added extra patrols in the area.
"While there is not an increased threat to public safety, officers are focusing extra patrols on area businesses open during the overnight hours," police said, in a media release.
