(WWJ) Police are investigating a pair of assault complaints in connection with two separate workplace disputes in Troy,

In the first incident, on Sept. 28, officers were called to Detroit Wheel and Tire on 14 Mile Rd., east of John R Rd., about two female employees who were fighting.

Police said the women, who used to be friends, got into a "verbal altercation" while working.

During the argument, one of the co-workers — identified as a 49-year-old Hazel Park resident, chest bumped the other. The alleged victim reacted by smacking the suspect's left shoulder with her right hand, police said, and suspect then began pushing the victim's face with her hands.

The complainant, who was able to get away at that point, told police she wants to seek assault and battery charges against her former friend.

The second incident happened at Total Lawn Care, on E. Maple Rd., west of Rochester Rd.

Police said officers got a call from an employee who said he was arguing with his supervisor, a 49-year-old Royal Oak man, when the supervisor pushed him down.

The victim reported that he hit his head onto the ground, hurting his head and back, police said, and that he wanted to seek assault and battery charges against his supervisor.

Officers spoke with the supervisor who admitted he was involved in a verbal altercation with an employee, police said. However, the supervisor felt the employee came toward him in a threatening manner, and told police pushed him onto the ground in self-defense.

At this point, no changes have been announced and no names have been released in either case.
