13-year-old girl who went missing in Detroit a month ago has been recovered, police say

DETROIT (WWJ) -- The Detroit Police Department says a 13-year-old girl who disappeared early last month on the city's east side has been found.

Demia Wilson was reported last seen on Tuesday, May 5, at her home on Alcoy, in the area of E. McNichols and Gratiot Ave.


The teen's family said Wilson left without permission, and they reported her missing the same day, when she didn't come home.

On June 4, the DPD provided an update stating that Wilson has been recovered.

Police did not say where the teen was found, and no further information was released.
