DETROIT (WWJ) -- Police are asking for help from the public to find a driver wanted for a deadly hit-and-run involving a pedestrian.
At around 3:40 p.m. on Thursday, June 13, police said a 59-year-old woman was crossing Gratiot Ave. (13800 block) on Detroit's east side, when she was hit by a black Ford Edge.
The driver fled the scene, and the woman was taken to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead.
Her name was not released.
Police said the suspect's vehicle had front-end damage due to the crash, and a spare tire on the rear passenger's side. There is no description of the driver.

Police on Friday released two surveillance photos of the vehicle, as the investigation continues.
