DETROIT (WWJ) -- An investigation is underway after a teenage father was shot and killed, early Friday morning on Detroit's east side.
According to Detroit Police, the shooting happened at around 3:30 a.m. on Oct. 9, outside a home on Cheshire Street, near I-94 and Moross.
Police responded to a Shot Spotter alert, and found an 18-year-od man lying in the driveway
He was pronounced dead at the scene. No other injures were reported.
The motive is unknown at this time.
"Family members say the 18-year-old is named Donovan. He was a high school graduate, he was working at a local restaurant, and he had a little baby," WWJ's Charlie Langton reported. "But they don't give any reason for the shooting."
There have been no arrests, and no suspects have been named or described.
Later in the morning, investigators could seen going door-to-door in the neighborhood, asking for security video to help them find a suspect or suspects.
