Police seek assistance to locate, identify suspect in purse robbery on Detroit’s east side

DETROIT (WWJ) Detroit Police are searching for a suspect accused of stealing a woman’s purse while she was walking through a neighborhood on the city’s east side.

The robbery happened on Wednesday, December 18th, around 4:30 p.m. on Sobieski near Justine—in the area of Conant and Davison.

Police said the suspect approached the woman from behind and “snatched her purse from her shoulder.”

He was last seen running north on Justine Street.

He’s described as Black, 5’10”, heavy build with a medium complexion. He was last seen wearing a gray sweatsuit and a black vest with red writing on it.
