Police seek man who carjacked woman outside Detroit gas station on 7 Mile

DETROIT (WWJ) -- Police are looking for a suspect after a woman was carjacked outside a Detroit gas station.

The incident happened at approximately 10:22 p.m. on Monday, June 27, at a gas station on the 16000 block of W. Seven Mile Rd.


Police say the 29-year-old woman was inside of her black 2009 Ford Escape when the suspect approached, pointed a weapon at her and demanded her vehicle.

The victim complied and the suspect fled the scene in the victim's vehicle, police say.

No injuries were reported.

Officers said they recovered the car the next day, on June 28, in the 11600 block of Kentucky with heavy damage.

The suspect is described as a male, between the ages of 17 and 22, 5'9" tall and around 140 lbs. He was last seen wearing all black clothing and light-colored shoes.
