KEEGO HARBOR (WWJ) - Police are seeking a pair of alleged dine-and-dashers turned hit-and-run suspects after they reportedly struck a waitress with their vehicle as they tried to leave a Keego Harbor restaurant without paying their bill over the weekend.

According to the Keego Harbor Police Department, the incident occurred on Friday, February 16, just after 7:30 p.m. at the El Camino restaurant on Orchard Lake Road.

The waitress, identified by WXYZ as Keirah Stack, was waiting on a white man and woman in their mid to late 50s when a dispute over their service and food began.

"She was unsatisfied with her drink, he said his beer was flat, so I proceed to make them more margaritas," Stack told WXYZ of the incident. "I made them about three rounds of margaritas because they were not satisfied with any of the margaritas they had. After they drank about half of the margarita, they'd complain and ask for another one."

The couple reportedly had several rounds of drinks and ate full orders of appetizers when they also began complaining about how their entrees were taking too long.

Then they decided to leave.

Stack recalled getting their tab together when the couple allegedly got up and walked out.

"And I said, 'Absolutely not,'" she said.

Stack went after the couple with the intention of getting their license plate information, but when she confronted them by placing herself in front of their vehicle, they stopped. The server recalled the couple laughing at her as she told them they have to pay their tab.

According to police, the man reversed to maneuver around the waitress, but she got in their path again.

"...at which time the driver knocked her down with the vehicle, ran over her legs and proceeded to flee southwest bound on Orchard Lake Road towards the city of Orchard Lake," Keego Harbor police said.

Stack's mother, Marina Stack, was one of the diners inside the restaurant who saw the incident unfold. She immediately ran to her daughter's side and called 911.

Police said the waitress was taken to a Metro Detroit hospital. Stack told WXYZ she is extremely sore and has an infection in her knee, but she is expected to recover.

Now she, her family, coworkers and police are focusing on tracking down the couple responsible.

"We're a family and no matter who you hurt in this family, we all stick together," El Camino general manager Brianna Furton said to WXYZ. "We're doing everything in our power to find these people that hurt one of our own."

Stack managed to get a partial license plate number during her confrontation and police were able to obtain footage of the suspect vehicle, described by police as a dark-colored Mercedes-Benz C-Class with later generation wheels and a possible partial license #DY9003.
