NOVI (WWJ) -- Supporters of Donald Trump are invited to a rally to celebrate the former president, as he returns to Michigan on Sunday to serve as keynote speaker for an Oakland County Republican Party "Lincoln Day" event.

“President Trump's unparalleled leadership, unwavering dedication to conservative values, and relentless pursuit of American greatness have left an indelible mark on our country and the world,” the organization wrote in a Facebook post promoting the gala in Novi, in honor of former President Abraham Lincoln.

While tickets for the Lincoln Day dinner are sold out, the Michigan Conservative Coalition is asking Trump supporters to show up in Novi for what they're calling a "Trump flash mob."

The idea behind the flash mob event, the group says, is to provide a simple, concise and inexpensive way for Trump supporters to show their support.

The MCC said it wants to make sure that Trump’s Michigan supporters know they are an important part in this grassroots political movement.

“Trump loves Michigan,” said Meshawn Maddock, MCC’s President, in a media release. “We started the Trump flash mob concept back in 2016. It exploded to be a national phenomenon. Our grassroots volunteers pretty much demanded that we offered a way to show their support as Trump visits Michigan on June 25.  It was an easy call to make as we have not stopped supporting Trump.”

The flash mob will be held from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, June 25, at the Suburban Collection Showplace in Novi, where the Lincoln Day dinner is also being held.

Flash mob attendees are asked “to welcome President Trump back to Michigan,” showing support with handmade Trump signs, Trump flags, and American flags. "All in good taste will be welcome," the MCC added.

According to the MCC, previous Trump flash mobs like this at locations across Michigan have drawn a few thousands attendees.

The flash mob will be held outdoors, so participants are urged to dress for the weather.
