(WWJ) – Technology seems to be moving at a faster pace by the day. Each year around the holidays we see new tech gadgets topping wish lists, from phones and tablets to virtual reality headsets.

We humans can hardly keep up. But what if we’re just scratching the surface of what’s possible? IBM on Monday announced its latest advancement in quantum computing, a technology that could “transform civilization.”

What exactly does “quantum computing” mean? What could it accomplish? Why should we care? Those are just some of the questions WWJ’s Zach Clark set out to find answers to on a new Daily J podcast.

Hearing from quantum experts at the University of Michigan, he learned the possibilities of quantum computing could lead to technological breakthroughs we can’t even yet comprehend — or security nightmares.
