LANSING (WWJ) About 200 protesters gathered at the State Capitol in Lansing for a rally calling for an audit of the 2020 election.
Former President Donald Trump endorsed the rally, organized by the Election Integrity Force.

CBS affiliate WLNS-TV in Lansing spoke with several of the attendees.
“I think it’s important today to be here because we’ve all seen that this election was actually stolen,” one man said.
“The fact that they’re hiding it and want to stop the audit in every way makes it even more shady,” a woman added.
The Election Integrity Force told WWJ this is a “bipartisan event and not a Trump rally.” Only a portion of the guests identified as supporters of the former president.
“It’s to show we’re not backing down,” another attendee told WLNS. “We’re still here. We still got the numbers. There’s still a lot of people who want a full forensic audit.”
Guests attended to oppose the audit as well.
“This whole ‘stop the steal thing is a big lie.’ It’s a threat to the basic institutions of this country. Majority rule,” one man said to WLNS.

The event — which ran from noon to 3 p.m. on Tuesday — featured several speakers including Republican gubernatorial candidate, Ryan Kelley—and Michigan Reps. Matt Maddock, Daire Rendon, John Riley and State Sen. Patrick Colbeck.
Trump released a statement late last week, urging his supporters to go to the rally, saying: “Patriots will demand a forensic audit of the 2020 Presidential Election Scam.”
The Michigan Bureau of Elections back in April said that, based on the results of 250 audits from across the state, “November’s (presidential) election was fair and accurate.” They said they conducted the audit by randomly selecting some 18,000 ballots from all over Michigan and hand-counting them. It was the largest audit conducted in state history, according to the Michigan Bureau of Elections.
