Redford man arraigned in double murder of his sister and 12-year-old nephew in their Hazel Park home

HAZEL PARK (WWJ) -- A man with a lengthy criminal history has been formally charged with murder for allegedly killing his sister and nephew in Hazel Park on Labor Day.

According to Hazel Park Police, the Oakland County Prosecutor’s Office has authorized two counts of first-degree premeditated murder against 43-year-old Ladamien Hill of Redford.

A not guilty plea was entered on his behalf during his arraignment in 43rd District, Friday afternoon.

Linda Hill and her 12-year old son, Kardi Jackson, were found dead, Monday afternoon, in their home on Berdeno Ave. The Oakland County Medical Examiner ruled that both victim's throats had been cut, and that they died by homicide.

Prosecutors said, shortly before she was killed, Linda Hill was on the phone with her sister, and told her she had to go because her brother had arrived at her house.

Ladamien Hill was arrested in Pontiac the day after the bodies were found.

Police said, when taken into custody, the suspect was in possession of a passport and notes on several things he needed to leave the area.

No motive for the murders has been released by authorities, and family members say they don't know why he would do this.

The defendant's uncle, Dwight Hill, said there were no warning signs that his nephew would act against his own family in such a violent way.

"It's gonna be hard," he told WWJ Newsradio 950's Jon Hewett. "You never get over it, but you learn to deal with it, right? You learn to deal with it, so I'm hoping and praying; my prayers go out for my family. Like I said before, Lademien...we never saw it coming."

Speaking against allowing bail in this case, police outlined a lengthy criminal history, saying Ladamien Hill has served prison time, was involved in multiple domestic violence incidents, and an assault with intent to murder case which was ultimately pled down.

Ladamien Hill was remanded to jail without bond following his arraignment. His next court hearing is set for Sept. 16.
