55-year-old Redford man killed in single motorcycle crash in Monroe County

BERLIN TOWNSHIP (WWJ) A Redford man died when he lost control of his motorcycle and crashed in Monroe County.

In a statement on X; Michigan State Police First District said their troopers were dispatched for a single motorcycle crash--to the area of U.S. Turnpike and Roberts Road, in Berlin Township, on Friday (10/11) just before 4 p.m.

Troopers’ investigation revealed the black Harley Davidson motorcycle was traveling northbound on the U.S Turnpike. The driver, 55, lost control and went off the roadway. The motorcycle overturned and ejected him. He was not wearing a helmet, State Police said.

He was pronounced dead at the scene. His name was not released.

Michigan State Police were assisted by the Monroe County Sheriff’s Department, Michigan Department of Natural Resources, U.S. Border Patrol, Berlin Township Fire Department, and Monroe County Ambulance.
