WAYNE COUNTY (WWJ) - A Redford Township man was apprehended after he allegedly pointed a gun at someone, tried to flee from police and briefly barricaded himself in a home on Saturday.
The Redford Township Police Department said officers responded to the area of Hemingway and Plymouth after receiving a call about a man in a red Dodge Caravan who pointed a handgun at another person.
A police officer managed to track the suspect vehicle down and pursued the minivan for a short time before the van wrecked and the driver began fleeing foot.
The man ran to a home on the 25000 block of Deborah. He initially refused to leave the residence, but eventually was taken into custody without further incident.
Authorities said the man sustained minor injuries in the crash.
The incident remains under investigation. Anyone with additional information has been asked to contact Detective Ed French at 313-387-2579 efrench@redfordpd.org
