(WWJ) An academic building on the campus of Michigan State University in East Lansing was shut down for the day amid a police investigation.
Parents of Michigan State University students said they received a text message on Thursday (9/3) informing them that Berkey Hall was temporarily closed for a reported threat.
MSU said in a posted that this closer is "out of an abundance of caution," and thar classes held in Berkey Hall would be removed to remote online instruction while law enforcement assesses a reported potential threat.
"There is no indication of a threat to the broader campus at this time. The university is working closely with law enforcement and will continue to provide updates as we are able," the university added.
No further details were immediately released.
Berkey Hall was one of two buildings on the MSU campus where a 2023 mass shooting took place. Three students were killed, and five others were injured.
