(WWJ) A Royal Oak man is behind bars after it's alleged he broke into his sister's house and beat her and her son.

It happened Thursday afternoon, in the 100 block of Windrift Lane in Rochester Hills.

According to the Oakland County Sheriff's Office, the victim called 9-1-1 to report that that her estranged brother, who'd been evicted from the home back in February, went into the house without permission while she was away.

When she came back, she found him inside with her 12-year-old son.

"The caller reported that her brother began verbally assaulting her and she struck him with a frying pan in fear," according to a sheriff's office report.

The man then began beating his sister, officials said; and when the 12-year-old tried to held his mother, the man punched the child in the head, neck and stomach.

The suspect then fled the scene, striking the woman's vehicle, which was parked in the driveway, the sheriff's office said.

Deputies tracked the suspect to John R and Auburn roads, where he was taken into custody.

Investigators said the man admitted that he went into the house without permission, and that his sister told him numerous times to leave.

The suspect remains lodged in the Oakland County Jail awaiting expected charges of unlawful entry and domestic assault. His name was not immediately released.
