ROYAL OAK (WWJ) A Royal Oak woman is behind bars, accused of going nearly 125 miles per hour while driving on a suspended license.
Police say Angelina Gojcaj, 40, was driving at 124 mph in a 70-mile mph zone. They witnessed her speeding vehicle just after midnight Wednesday on westbound I-96 near Mohawk.
Investigators told WWJ she tried to make a quick getaway by exiting the freeway via the 10 Mile ramp, and attempting to turn onto northbound Woodward.
Gojcaj "lost control and struck the center median on Woodward," police wrote in a press release.
She got out of the car and attempted to run away, but police caught her.
Gojcaj was arrested for Reckless Driving, Leaving the Scene of an Accident, and Driving While License Suspended Second Offense. She was arraigned and given a $1,000 person bond on the condition she doesn't drive, use drugs or alcohol, leave the state, or commit any new crimes.
She also must undergo random drug testing.
