SAGINAW (WWJ) -- A Michigan man became an instant millionaire after purchasing an Ultimate instant game ticket worth $4 million.
The 52-year-old man from Saginaw County says he bought a pair of instant tickets when he stopped to get gas at the Fastlane convenience store, located on 3540 State Street.
After scanning his first ticket and receiving a prompt to “file a claim,” the man — who has chosen to remain anonymous — says he thought the lottery scanner was broken.
“I went out to my car to pump gas and I scratched the ticket while I was waiting,” he said. “It’s hard to describe the feeling when I saw the winning amount. I got in the car and yelled: ‘We just won $4 million!’”
He chose to receive his prize as a one-time lump sum payment of about $2.7 million.
With his winnings, the player says he plans to purchase land and invest.
