STERLING HEIGHTS (WWJ) -- Authorities have released new information about a deadly incident involving tree trimming on Monday in Sterling Heights.
The Michigan Occupational Safety and Health Administration (MIOSHA) says the man who was killed was a 41-year-old school bus driver from Grosse Pointe Park.
He was in a mechanical boom lift, trimming trees behind the school bus parking lot, when he came in contact with a live wire.
Authorities said the incident happened the afternoon of Aug. 25, along Metro Parkway near Mound Road.
First responders worked with DTE Energy crews to turn off the power and get the victim off the lift. They performed CPR, but the man was pronounced dead at the hospital. His name was not released.
No one else was hurt.
The incident remains under investigation.
