
EATON COUNTY (WWJ) - Michigan State Police are searching for a driver who hit a man with their vehicle before fleeing the scene in Vermontville, southwest of Lansing.
Troopers said the crash occurred on S. Main St. near W. First St. in front of Village Hall around 10:17 p.m. on March 12.
First responders who arrived on scene found a 60-year-old man lying in the road with serious injuries; he was transported to an area hospital and was admitted to ICU; MSP said the man is still in recovering in the hospital as of Wednesday, March 23.
Officials said there were no witnesses to the crash, but they have identified a person of interest in the case.
MSP released a photo of the suspect vehicle; they believe a 2000 to 2006 tan model GMC Yukon or Chevrolet Tahoe struck the man.
